Private corrections
When you submit a correction, we store the target record, your proposed change and supporting source in a private editorial queue. Name and email are optional and are used only to review or follow up the submission. Please avoid including sensitive personal information in your message.
To limit abuse, the site temporarily stores a keyed hash derived from the connection IP address, with a one-hour expiry. It does not store the raw address in the correction record. Hosting access and security logs may separately record connection details.
Retention
Name and email fields are removed 90 days after a correction is marked resolved, when the daily WordPress maintenance task runs. Unresolved corrections remain available to the editor. The correction text and supporting source can remain as an editorial record. Hosting backups can retain earlier copies under the hosting backup schedule.
Browser preferences
The light or dark appearance choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. WordPress uses cookies for administrator sign-in. Reader accounts, newsletter subscriptions, advertising and third-party tracking scripts are not part of this release.
Privacy requests
You can use an article’s private correction form for a privacy request. Include only the details needed to identify your earlier submission.
